WELCOME TO THE HISTORIAN’S LAB

The Historian's Lab is a signature programme developed by history educators and historians at NIE’s Humanities and Social Studies Education Academic Group (HSSE). It is designed to provide students and teachers with an opportunity to learn history in an immersive and experiential way.

A diverse range of activities and multimedia sources have been created to engage participants in activities specially designed to promote history inquiry. Through learning modules, instructional materials, game-based resources, an active history forum, and in-house video tutorials, the Historian’s Lab offers an online learning experience that aims to demonstrate “historical learning through an apprenticeship of the craft".

The learning outcomes are aimed at developing students’ disciplinary thinking and dispositions, cultivate their knowledge of the subject matter, and assist them to acquire firmer understandings of important concepts that structure the historical discipline.

We hope you find the Historian’s Lab a useful resource and a meaningful learning experience!
